QUESTION: WHAT HAPPENED TO DOWNLOAD LINKS?

ANSWER: Unfortunately, Halo Waypoint no longer supports direct downloads to the game from the official Halo website therefore making download links obsolete.

HOW DO I DOWNLOAD MAPS AND GAME TYPES?

While download links are missing, you can still obtain files from players by simply looking them up and accessing their file share.

 

On MyHaloMaps, you will see a text box below the screenshots of the forges we feature, it reads as " FILESHARE HOST" which is the gamer tag you need to look up to download the map you're looking at. Be sure to also check in the map's description in "GAMEPLAY NOTE" to see if the map runs on a a recommended or specific game type which will also be found in the same file share.

DOWNLOAD FILES STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS FOR HALO THE MASTER CHIEF COLLECTION

1. Open the player lobby roster.

2. Select your profile to open a menu.

3. Select 'FIND PLAYER"

4. Check the map's author here on MyHaloMaps.com and then enter their gamertag.

5. Select "FILE SHARE"

For maps, you will need to highlight the option "MAP VARIANTS" and then hit "Select". You may need to do the same for "GAME TYPES" to download specially made game types for selected maps, be sure to read the gameplay notes listed for every map published here on myhalomaps.com
